Connect a Facebook Page
What this chapter covers
Connect a Facebook Page to Conma to collect and manage comments on your Page posts and automatically hide hateful comments. You can connect with just a Page, even without an Instagram account. This chapter covers how to connect, the features you can use after connecting, and how to reconnect if the connection drops.
3.1When to use it
| Situation | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Your Facebook Page is your main channel | Comments on your Page posts are gathered in Conma's Comments screen |
| You can't keep watching for hateful comments | AI picks out negative comments and hides them automatically |
| You run both Instagram and a Page | Manage both channels side by side in one workspace |
3.2Before you start
- You need admin access to the Facebook Page you want to connect.
- You can connect with just a Page, even without an Instagram account. Instagram accounts and Pages are connected separately. Connecting one doesn't connect the other.
- A Page counts toward your account limit just like an Instagram account. You can connect Pages and Instagram accounts together, up to your plan's account limit.
- A Page can be connected to only one workspace. If the Page is already connected to another workspace, you can send a request to join that workspace.
3.3Step-by-step guide
Choose the Facebook Page card
On the Connect account screen, tap the Connect Facebook Page card. The same screen opens wherever you start: when creating a new workspace, from the connect account window in a workspace with no accounts, from + in the account list at the top of the screen, or from Connected accounts in Settings.

Check the guide
On the Connect your Facebook Page screen, check what you need to prepare, then tap Continue with Facebook.

If you've already connected a Page to Conma, select it too on the next Meta screen. If you leave it out, that Page will be disconnected.
Choose Pages and allow access on Meta
After you log in to Facebook, Meta screens appear one after another. Choose the Page and business to connect, then allow all requested permissions.
Meta Page selection screen
On the Choose the Pages you want Conma to access screen, pick the Page to connect to Conma. Select Opt in to current Pages only, check the Page you want to connect, then tap Continue. If you've already connected other Pages to Conma, check those Pages too.

Meta business selection screen
If the Page belongs to a business portfolio, the Choose the businesses you want Conma to access screen appears next. Check the business that the Page belongs to, then tap Continue.

Allow permissions
Finally, you'll see the list of permissions Conma requests. These let Conma read and manage your Page posts and comments. Leave them all turned on and save.

- If you leave out even one permission, the connection won't work. If you see "Not all required permissions were allowed," reconnect and allow every permission.
- If you don't manage any Pages, you'll see "No Pages available to connect." Create a Page on Facebook, then try again.
Select the Page and finish
On the Select a Facebook Page to connect screen, choose one Page to connect. If only one Page is available, it connects right away without this screen.
- Even if you chose several Pages on the Meta screen, only the one Page you select here is connected to Conma. To connect another Page, start again from STEP 1.
- Pages already connected to this workspace show "Already connected to Conma" and can't be selected again.
Select a Page to connect screen

Once connected, you'll see the message "{Page name} Page connected. Importing past comments." and Conma starts importing past comments. The Page name is added to the account list at the top of the screen, along with the Facebook icon.

3.4Features available for Pages
When you select a Page in the account list, the left menu shows only the menus available for Pages.
Left menu when a Page is selected

| Feature | Facebook Page | Details |
|---|---|---|
| View posts · comments in one place | Available | Posts · Comments |
| Hide · unhide · delete · reply to comments | Available | Comments |
| AI negative classification · Auto-hide negative comments | Available | Real-time Comment Detection |
| Event Draw | Available. Winner notification DMs can't be sent yet | Event Draw |
| Auto DM · DM Inbox · Insights · Reports | Not available yet. These menus are hidden when you select a Page |
3.5When the connection is lost
If you remove the Conma app's permissions on Facebook or lose admin access to the Page, the connection is lost. Comment collection and auto-hiding stop, and a disconnection notice appears on the Comments screen when you select that Page. Click Reconnect and log in with the Facebook account that manages the Page to continue using it.
Screen shown when a Page is disconnected

- Both workspace owners and admins can reconnect.
- Comments posted while the Page was disconnected are imported after you reconnect. These comments aren't hidden automatically, so please review them yourself.
3.6Disconnecting
In Settings, go to Connected Accounts and click ··· → Disconnect on the Page's row. Once disconnected, Conma can no longer access that Page's posts and comments, and one account slot is freed up.
3.7Wrapping up
Once you connect a Page, comments on its posts are gathered on Conma's Comments screen, and with real-time detection turned on, malicious comments are hidden automatically. Learn more about managing comments in Comments and about auto-hiding in Real-time Comment Detection.
